Release No. 4

Leicester Square
Cask Ref. 331

This single cask release drawn from a VIRGIN CASK celebrates Leicester Square station.

Originally proposed to be named Cranbourn Street, Leicester Square station was opened in 1906. The lifts to the Piccadilly and Northern line platforms at the station were replaced in the 1930s with banks of escalators, whilst the shafts were retained to aid ventilation. Initially a residential area, Leicester Square is now a bustling tourist centre featuring famous cinemas regularly used for film premiers.
